Wat gaan we tijdens de ensemble zang workshop van het komend Internationaal Barok Festival Zutphen allemaal doen?
We gaan ons onderdompelen in de aangrijpende wereld van de beroemde Lamento’s van Claudio Monteverdi. We gaan werken aan het indringende Lamento d’Arianna — een van de meest expressieve stukken uit de vroege barok — en ontdekken hoe deze muziek tot leven komt, van de intieme monodie tot de rijke madrigaalversie. Een prachtige uitdaging vol muzikaal puzzelwerk en emotionele diepgang.
Voor extra afwisseling combineren we vocale en instrumentale muziek. Zo bieden de motetten van William Byrd een mooie kans om samen te werken met gamba’s, naast repertoire van tijdgenoten als John Dowland en Thomas Wilbye.

Studied voice at the Sweelinck Conservatorium in Amsterdam, where he obtained his UM-degree (Masters) in 1985.
Harry worked as soloist with many wellknown conductors and orchestras and is a soughtafter soloist for many concerts. He also performs regularly in songrecitals with piano or lute.
As soloist Harry was invited in the Netherlands and the other countries of Western Europe, as well as in the USA, Japan, Middle East and South America.
His vast repertoire contains works stretching from (early) Middle Age up and until works from this era. Some of these works were especially dedicated and written for him.
Next to his work as a soloist, professional ensemble singing is an important part of Harry’s work.
He joins the ensembles Gesualdo Consort Amsterdam and Quink Vocal Ensemble, and regularly performs with The Netherlands Chamber Choir and Cappella Amsterdam next to a number of smaller specialized European groups.
Harry teaches in courses, masterclasses and workshops with specialized subjects.
He coaches several vocal and instrumental groups and performs as conductor for (project) choirs.
As professor of voice he worked as Head of the Voice Department at the Conservatorium of Amsterdam, for Master Ensemble Singing Practicum at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague and until his retirement as professor of voice in Zwolle at the ArtEZ academy in Arnhem and Zwolle.
