Martin Bolterauer was born in Graz. He started his music education at the Johann Josef Fux Conservatory Graz and continued his studies of Early Music at Kunstuniversität Graz (at the Institute for Early Music) and the University of the Arts Bremen.
He plays in several European ensembles as a cornett player on a national and international level such as in productions with “Les Cornets Noirs”, “Concentus Musicus Wien”, “Freiburger BarockConsort” and “L’Arpeggiata”. Furthermore he was involved in numerous broadcast recordings.
Additionally he played in opera productions at the Grand Théâtre de Genève, Müpa Budapest, Teatro Olimpico, Royal Theater Carré, Staatstheater Augsburg, to name just a few.
